Alejandro 'Álex' López Sánchez (born 11 January 1988) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for English club Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Celta de Vigo as a central midfielder. ==Club career== Born in Ferrol, Galicia, López finished his formation with Racing de Ferrol's youth system, and made his professional debut on 14 May 2005 by coming on as a late substitute in a 2–2 home draw against CD Tenerife for the Segunda División championship.〔(La relajación del Racing otorga un punto al Tenerife (Racing's nonchalance gives Tenerife a point) ); El Mundo Deportivo, 15 May 2005 〕 In July he was loaned to lowly SD O Val, in Tercera División. López returned to Racing in June 2006, and after appearing sparingly in the first part of the season (with his team now in Segunda División B), he rescinded his contract and joined Narón BP in the fourth level. On 26 June 2009 he signed with Celta de Vigo, initially being assigned to the reserves in division three.
